After my second long term relationship with a very narcissistic abusive person, I really started to explore what was happening beneath the surface. Why was I drawn to this type and when they continued to hurt me, why was I staying? There isn't any point where I was deserving of the abuse or mistreatment that I received.. however, I really had to begin taking a close look at my own involvement in these situations. And upon learning that my attraction to these people wasn't because they were "my type" that was set in stone or who I was meant to be with.. but rather, a subconscious programming and neural pathways that I had in my unconscious mind that made me gravitate towards these people.. I suddenly felt excited for the possibility of something better! I learned that feeling that magnetic pull and high chemistry with these types of individuals was a trauma response. And more importantly.. I learned that I could CHANGE THAT!
You see, all of THAT was MY base programming. After being raised and immersed in my family and experiencing the relationship between my own parents, I would then go on to take on the role of the codependent people-pleaser who became the perfect supply for very narcissistic people. And not only that.. but I would push away the people who were actually good for me. I thought they were "boring" and that we just didn't click.. because I have been accustomed to thinking that really high attraction and chemistry was the marker of "real love"! So, you can imagine my absolute relief when I learned that it was NOT. And that I could absolutely change all of that!
So, I went on to do the work. I began my healing journey and was soon thrust into my Spiritual Awakening. And doing the healing work was important. Seeing a psychotherapist to help with trauma and various other things; Having reiki energy healing and chakra balancing to help heal and clear my energetic body; Meditation, breathing, EFT, affirmations, law of attraction and various other things to assist with all aspects of my healing at different points along my journey. And as I continued along my path, I also began my path as a practitioner. I started learning about my own gifts and how they could be applied. And eventually, I learned about hypnotherapy and I was suddenly very excited! I finally felt like i had the missing piece to the equation!
You have the therapy parts to learn about your trauma and process it; You have the energy healing parts to heal and clear away the parts in your energetic body; And now we had the programming part to go right in and put in the new programs we wanted! And it felt like I finally discovered the final important component!
You see, I actually went to college for Computer Programming after high school before I went on to take Psychology and Health Studies in University. I was really skilled at coding and programming language and even taught myself HTML and C+ when I was a teenager. I loved the idea of "creating" and programming the way you wanted things to be. So, you can imagine my excitement when I started to dive into what Hypnotherapy actually was and how it worked! Essentially, instead of a Computer Programmer, I am now a Subconscious Programmer.. and as an energy healer, I cannot tell you how much that highly amuses me.
So, let's get back to the program.. and WHY this works!!
Hypnotherapy bypasses all your conscious mind and thoughts and goes DIRECTLY to your subconscious mind, the "control panel", and inserts into it the new programming, the new beliefs that will now go on to create new neural pathways in your subconscious mind! How do I know this will work? Well, Hypnotherapy has a success rate of 93%! (Yes, you read that correctly.)
So, although I am a huge fan of affirmations and think that absolutely everyone should use them and continue to use them, it can take a long time for those to implant themselves into your subconscious mind.
